"Painted Yucca"

Taken back in 2015, when Austin was Still Weird, and Castle Hill was still a free admission Graffiti Park. Artists from far and wide would come to show their skills and express themselves upon these concrete walls beneath the Castle above.

This is no longer there. These walls were demolished and the art scene in Austin has faded.

Yet this photo still speaks to me. The painted Yucca standing vibrant and tall amongst the chaotic beauty of the graffitied walls.

It helps me to still remember when Austin was Weird.
